The Dock
To captivate students’ hearts for a lifetime of following and enjoying Jesus.
The word “captivate” means to attract and hold the interest of someone. Our world tries to allure us with many distractions that seek to attract and hold our attention. The problem is those distractions leave us feeling dissatisfied and empty. Unlike the empty promises our culture gives, Jesus is the only one who can satisfy the longings of our hearts. Jesus promises this in John 10:10, when He says, “I came that they might have life and have it abundantly” (ESV).
When our hearts are captivated by Jesus, He stirs our affections, holds our attention, and enables us to follow Him. We will then joyfully trade the distractions of our culture so that we might experience the fullness of life with Him.

Why The Dock?
One day, students will leave home. The question is, are they ready for the voyage ahead? Are they equipped with the tools they need to navigate the storm of the current culture? Will they remember what they learned when they were docked-in at home?
On a dock, a boat prepares itself for the journey ahead. It fuels up with gasoline, loads itself with the necessary supplies, and equips itself with the tools needed before heading out on its voyage. At The Dock, we want to partner with parents to help equip and supply students with the tools they need to navigate their voyage.
Ephesians 4:14-15 says, "so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ" (ESV).
We do not want students to "get tossed" by this storm. We want students to navigate the storms by looking to Jesus Christ and His truth. When Jesus captivates students' hearts, they will discover that following Him prepares them for the upcoming voyage. Then, they will have what they need to prepare for the greatest journey—following Jesus.
That is why we exist: to captivate students' hearts for a lifetime of following and enjoying Jesus.

Equipping Students to Navigate Well
Every dock is supported by several long cylinder beams called piles. These piles are driven deep into the ground to stabilize the dock. Whether the water levels rise or fall, these piles keep the dock in one place.
The four piles of The Dock are biblical teaching, biblical prayer, biblical community, and biblical identity. These four piles anchor into the solid bedrock of the gospel of Jesus Christ! The gospel is at the heart of everything we do at The Dock.
As we seek to equip students before they leave home, we pray that these four piles will become the oars guiding their lives as they row out into the world.
